Practice news: Orphaned animals

Bluetits

Over the past few years our staff have hand-reared a lot of orphaned and injured animals and successfully released them back into the wild. Here are some of our favourites, starting with our three little blue tits.

Baby birds

It can be a lot of work to feed all these little mouths every couple of hours.

Shellgeese

These two little ones grew into huge shell geese. It was wonderful to see them successfully fly away.

hedgehog

This little guy was so young that he still had soft spikes when we first got him.

Before and after pictures of Kiki, a kestrel brought into us as a baby.

Scout

Finally, this is Scout, a duckling who we raised and released in Cambridge.
